Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver, Canada — January 10, 2026 — Once again, despite freezing and subzero temperatures, freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver held rallies in solidarity with the nationwide uprising in Iran and its brave protesters. Participants held pictures of the martyrs of the ongoing nationwide protests and chanted anti-regime slogans to express their support for compatriots who have risen up inside Iran.

Demonstrators called for the establishment of a free and democratic republic in Iran, rejecting all forms of autocracy—whether monarchical or theocratic. They carried banners echoing the demands of protesters inside the country, including “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs.”

The rallies also highlighted the plight of protesters in Iran, where the regime has resorted to internet shutdowns, hospital raids, and widespread repression to silence dissent. Thousands of victims have been identified despite a severe media blackout. Participants in Canada demanded that the voice of Iranian protesters be heard, urging the international community to deny the regime any revenue and to recognize the Iranian people’s right to a free, democratic republic.

These rallies in Canada sent a powerful message to the international community to stand with the people of Iran—not with any form of dictatorship—and to support their ongoing struggle for freedom, justice, and democracy.
