Supporters of the Iranian Resistance in Sweden back regime change, democracy, and welcome the IRGC terrorist designation.
Gothenburg, Sweden — January 31, 2026 — Freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) rallied in Gothenburg to show solidarity with the ongoing nationwide uprising inside Iran.
ne of the main objectives of the gathering, in addition to supporting the Iranian people’s uprising, was to welcome the terrorist designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of the Iranian regime and to congratulate the people and the Iranian Resistance, who had been calling for this measure for more than three decades. Participants chanted anti-regime slogans and voiced their support for their fellow Iranians rising up against tyranny.
Demonstrators called for the establishment of a free and democratic republic in Iran and rejected all forms of dictatorship—both monarchical and theocratic. They held images of those killed in the uprising and carried banners reflecting the protesters’ demands in Iran, such as “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs!”
The rally sent a clear message to the international community, urging governments and institutions to stand with the people of Iran—not with any form of autocracy—and to support their continuing struggle for freedom, justice, and democracy.
