Weekly Rally Against Executions in Gothenburg
Gothenburg, Sweden — February 10, 2025 — Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered in Gothenburg to mark the 107th consecutive week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, a movement protesting the Iranian regime’s escalating wave of executions and ongoing systematic repression.
Participants strongly condemned the threat of mass executions and the silent deaths of prisoners in Iran’s prisons, calling for the immediate annulment of all death sentences and the unconditional release of political prisoners.
Iranians in Gothenburg also expressed strong solidarity with nationwide protests in Iran. Demonstrators chanted anti-regime slogans to show their support for compatriots who have risen up across the country.
Global Call to Expand the “No to Executions” Campaign
Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg expressed their support for Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and her call to expand the “No to Executions” campaign globally.
They reaffirmed that the presence of Iranian Resistance supporters in cities like Gothenburg is a pledge that political prisoners in Iran are not alone and that their struggle is neither forgotten nor invisible. The Iranian community in Gothenburg stood united—against execution, against oppression, and in defense of life, dignity, and a free Iran. Protesters also called for the prosecution of the regime’s leaders for crimes against humanity before an international tribunal.

Finally, the demonstrators reaffirmed the Iranian people’s call for a democratic republic, rejecting both religious dictatorship and any return to monarchy. They highlighted the importance of recognizing the Iranian Resistance and supporting the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran in their ongoing fight for freedom and justice.
