UK, Manchester – February 26, 2026: Members of the Academics in Exile Association in the UK, supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), held a book table and photo exhibition to express solidarity with the nationwide uprising in Iran. The event also invited people from all walks of life to participate in the demonstration on Saturday, February 28, in Trafalgar Square, London.
The organizers sought to draw the attention of local citizens to the suffering of Iranians and their determination to reject all forms of dictatorship—whether monarchical and theocratic. Through images and testimonies, the exhibition underscored the sacrifices made by protesters and called on the international community to stand with the Iranian people rather than with any form of authoritarian rule.
Participants emphasized the need to establish a free and democratic republic in Iran, reaffirming their support for the ongoing struggle of Iranians seeking political rights and civil liberties. The event served both as a memorial to those who lost their lives and as a renewed appeal for global solidarity with a movement striving for meaningful change.
