Brussels, Belgium — March 19, 2026 — A large rally of freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance took place in Brussels on Thursday, coinciding with the European Union summit and the Iranian New Year. Participants from diverse backgrounds—including Kurdish, Baluchi, and other Iranian nationalities—gathered in front of EU institutions to voice their unified demand for a free and democratic republic in Iran.

Call for a Democratic Republic in Iran

Demonstrators carried banners and portraits of the martyrs of recent uprisings, reflecting the demands of protesters inside Iran. They chanted slogans such as “Regime change in Iran by the people of Iran” and “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs,” firmly rejecting all forms of dictatorship—whether monarchical or theocratic.

Message to the European Union

Participants delivered a clear message to EU member states: stand with the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democracy. They called on European governments to recognize the Iranian provisional government based on Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan and to affirm the Iranian people’s right to resist the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and overthrow the regime.

Maryam Rajavi’s Message to the Rally

In her message, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi emphasized the importance of international recognition of the Iranian people’s will:
“Today, you have come to tell the European Union to recognize the will and the right of the Iranian people to bring down religious fascism.”

She added that while some seek to preserve or restore past dictatorships, the Iranian people demand peace, freedom, popular sovereignty, and a democratic republic free from all forms of authoritarian rule.

Unity Across Iran’s Diverse Communities

The rally highlighted national unity, with participants waving flags representing Iran’s diverse ethnic groups and singing the historic anthem “Ey Iran.” This collective display underscored a shared vision for a democratic and inclusive future.

A Unified Call for Global Support

The Brussels demonstration stood as a powerful call for regime change led by the Iranian people themselves and urged the international community to support their pursuit of a free, democratic, and inclusive republic.
