Amsterdam Rally Draws Broad Support

Amsterdam, March 22, 2026 – Supporters of the Iranian Resistance gathered in Amsterdam’s Dam Square and surrounding streets in a large and energetic demonstration calling for a free and democratic republic in Iran.

The rally brought together freedom-loving Iranians from diverse backgrounds, including Kurdish, and other Iranian nationalities, in a unified show of solidarity. The event also received notable attention from national media outlets, amplifying its message across the Netherlands.

Call for a Democratic Republic

Participants rallied under the slogan “A free Iran by the people and for the people,” emphasizing their commitment to popular sovereignty and democratic governance.

Demonstrators voiced strong support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its political platform, particularly the Ten-Point Plan proposed by Maryam Rajavi. The plan advocates for democratic elections, separation of religion and state, gender equality, and a non-nuclear Iran.

Chants of “No to the Shah! No to the Mullahs.” reflected a clear rejection of both monarchical and theocratic dictatorship.

Demands to the International Community

Addressing global leaders, participants outlined the following demands:

  • Support for the provisional government as the primary and most important demand
  • Opposition to war and appeasement policies
  • Recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist for regime change

They also called on the Netherlands, all European countries, and the international community to recognize the provisional government announced by the NCRI and support the Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow the current regime.

Maryam Rajavi’s Message

In a message to the rally, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi praised participants for their support of freedom and democracy, stating:

“I salute all of you who have risen in defense of the people of Iran, carrying the banner of peace and freedom.”

She emphasized that decades of appeasement have failed and urged European governments to adopt a new policy aligned with the Iranian people’s aspirations for a democratic republic.

A Unified Vision for Iran’s Future

The demonstration in Amsterdam delivered a clear and unified message: the future of Iran must be determined by its people, free from both authoritarian rule and external interference.

Participants stressed that the path forward lies in supporting a democratic transition based on the will of the Iranian people and the principles outlined in the NCRI’s Ten-Point Plan.
