Weekly Rally Against Executions in Gothenburg
Gothenburg, Sweden — March 10, 2025 — Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally to mark the 111th consecutive week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, a movement protesting the Iranian regime’s escalating wave of executions and ongoing systematic repression.
Participants warned that thousands of prisoners across Iran are facing an immediate and serious threat to their lives, as ongoing military tensions and attacks have turned prisons into highly vulnerable locations where detainees—completely under the control of authorities—have no means to evacuate or protect themselves.
Global Call to Expand the “No to Executions” Campaign
Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg expressed their support for Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and her call to expand the “No to Executions” campaign globally.
They reaffirmed that the presence of Iranian Resistance supporters in cities like Gothenburg is a pledge that political prisoners in Iran are not alone and that their struggle is neither forgotten nor invisible. The Iranian community in Gothenburg stood united—against execution, against oppression, and in defense of life, dignity, and a free Iran. Protesters also called for the prosecution of the regime’s leaders for crimes against humanity before an international tribunal.
Vision for a Democratic Republic and Support for MEK Resistance Units
Finally, the demonstrators reaffirmed the Iranian people’s call for a democratic republic, rejecting both religious dictatorship and any return to monarchy. They highlighted the importance of recognizing the Iranian Resistance and supporting the MEK Resistance Units inside Iran in their ongoing fight for freedom and justice.
