Support for a Democratic Alternative

Paris – March 14, 2026: Supporters of the Iranian Resistance gathered at Place de la Bastille in Paris to express their support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran ( NCRI ) and the provisional government announced by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi , the President-elect of the NCRI. Demonstrators backed her Ten-Point Plan for a free, democratic, secular, and non-nuclear Iran, emphasizing that sovereignty belongs to the people—not to the ruling regime or to a return to monarchy.

Participants included Iranian freedom-loving communities and supporters of the Iranian Resistance who gathered to voice solidarity with the struggle for freedom inside Iran.

“No to Shah, No to Mullahs”

Chants of “No to Shah, No to Mullahs” echoed across Bastille Square, reflecting the protesters’ rejection of both the former monarchical dictatorship and the current clerical regime. Demonstrators called for the overthrow of the ruling system and highlighted the history of repression at Evin Prison, where many political prisoners were tortured and executed under both regimes.

Tribute to Resistance Units

Speakers stressed that only the organized resistance of the Iranian people can bring an end to the dictatorship. They paid tribute to Resistance Units active inside Iran and honored martyrs of the struggle from different generations, emphasizing that the fight for freedom continues across the country.

Principles for a Future Democratic Iran

Several speakers highlighted the NCRI’s platform as a democratic alternative, citing principles such as the separation of religion and state, full gender equality, the abolition of the death penalty, a non-nuclear Iran, and peaceful relations in the region. The leadership of a woman in the movement was also noted as a challenge to the regime’s misogynistic policies.

Solidarity with the People of Iran

Throughout the rally, participants expressed solidarity with those inside Iran risking their lives for change. Women played a visible role in the gathering, chanting “Women, Resistance, Freedom.”

The demonstration amplified calls for a peaceful transition to a democratic republic in Iran and reaffirmed support for the NCRI’s framework as a roadmap for a free and democratic future.
