On 7 March 2026, thousands of Iranians gathered at Trocadéro Square in Paris to show their support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the provisional government announced by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI. The demonstrators endorsed her Ten-Point Plan for a free, democratic, secular, and non-nuclear Iran, emphasizing that sovereignty belongs to the people, not to the regime or to monarchs.
March from Trocadéro to Place Victor-Hugo Symbolizes a Century-Long Struggle for Freedom
Participants included Iranian communities, members of ethnic minorities such as Kurds and other Iranian ethnic nationalities, and supporters of the Iranian resistance from across Europe. They marched from Trocadéro to Place Victor-Hugo, symbolizing the long struggle of the Iranian people for freedom over the past century under both the Shah’s monarchy and the current theocratic regime.
Message from Maryam Rajavi: A Leap Toward a Free and Democratic Iran
Speakers at the rally included Jean-Pierre Brard, former Member of Parliament and Mayor of Montreuil, who opened the event. This was followed by a message from Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, who reiterated the guiding principle of the Iranian resistance: “No Return to the Past, No Stagnation in the Present, but a Leap Forward Toward a Free, Democratic, and Advanced Future.”
Demonstrators also called for international recognition of the provisional government and stressed that the path to democracy in Iran cannot involve a return to past dictatorships.

Other speakers at the Paris rally included Mr. Abolghasem Rezaee, Deputy of the NCRI Secretariat; Mrs. Sarvnaz Chitsaz, Chair of the NCRI Women’s Committee; Mrs. Zinat Mirhashemi, NCRI member and Editor-in-Chief of Nabard-e Khalq; Sara Nouri, an Iranian activist; Arman Habibi, a young Iranian activist; Bahram Abtin, spokesperson of the Iranban Movement; Maria Mehdipour, representative of the Organization of Khabat of Iranian Kurdistan; and Jacques Boutault, Deputy Mayor of Paris Centre and former Mayor of Paris’s 2nd district.

Abolghasem Rezaee stressed that the Iranian people and their organized resistance possess the capacity to overthrow the ruling dictatorship and establish a democratic republic without foreign intervention or war. He highlighted the role of a provisional government in ensuring a peaceful transition and organizing free elections.

Women’s Leadership and Equality in the Future of Iran
Sarvnaz Chitsaz emphasized that the Iranian people have drawn a clear line against both religious and monarchical dictatorship and that the democratic alternative presented by the NCRI aims to establish a republic based on freedom, equality, and the full participation of women and all nationalities.
Zinat Mirhashemi underscored the need for accountability for decades of repression and pointed to the decisive role of Iranian women in advancing the struggle for freedom and democracy despite repression and war.

Iranian Youth and the Role of Resistance Units
Sara Nouri highlighted that democracy cannot be imposed from outside and that genuine change in Iran will come through the will and courage of the Iranian people and their organized resistance.

Arman Habibi paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Iranian youth and resistance units inside the country, noting that recent uprisings demonstrate that the Iranian people no longer fear dictatorship and are determined to shape a democratic future.
Unity Among Iran’s Diverse Communities
Bahram Abtin stressed the importance of unity and collective wisdom among Iran’s diverse communities and called for cooperation among democratic forces to rebuild the country after decades of dictatorship and repression.

Maria Mehdipour reaffirmed the commitment of Kurdish freedom fighters and other Iranian nationalities to continue their struggle for freedom and to support the nationwide movement for a democratic and pluralistic Iran.

Jacques Boutault expressed his longstanding support for the Iranian resistance and noted that the Ten-Point Plan of Maryam Rajavi provides a democratic roadmap for Iran based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and popular sovereignty.
