Supporters of the PMOI rally in Malmö against executions in Iran and back the NCRI as a democratic alternative.

Malmö, Sweden – May 2, 2026: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held a rally in Malmö to protest the execution of political prisoners, including PMOI members and protesters arrested during the January 2026 uprising in Iran.

Demonstrators strongly condemned the actions of the ruling clerical regime, describing the executions as a blatant violation of human rights. Participants paid tribute to the victims by holding their photos and reaffirmed their commitment to continue the struggle against the regime until its overthrow and the establishment of peace, freedom, and justice in a democratic republic.

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, participants in the Malmö rally strongly condemned the anti-labor policies of Iran’s clerical regime, stressing that the only path to freedom from oppression and exploitation for Iranian workers is the overthrow of the ruling dictatorship.

Protesters also explicitly rejected all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic, emphasizing their opposition to both the rule of the Shah and the current mullah-led regime. They voiced support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as a democratic alternative.

During the rally, speakers called for an immediate halt to executions in Iran and urged the Swedish government to adopt a firm stance against the regime’s ongoing human rights violations. Organizers further appealed to the Swedish public and the international community to recognize the Iranian people’s clear rejection of dictatorship in all its forms and to support their struggle for democratic change.
