Iranian Resistance supporters will gather in Washington, D.C., on May 16, demanding an end to executions and a democratic republic in Iran.

NCRI and Iranian American Communities Organize Major Washington Demonstration on May 16

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) are preparing for a major demonstration in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Upper Senate Park near the U.S. Capitol.

Organizers say the rally is intended to draw international attention to the Iranian regime’s escalating executions of political prisoners and protesters, particularly following the January 2026 uprising.

Bipartisan Congressional Support

According to organizers, bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress have expressed support for the “Free Iran” rally and march in Washington. The event is expected to focus on condemning political executions in Iran and supporting the Iranian people’s demand for democratic change.

The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on May 16 at Upper Senate Park, located at Constitution Avenue NW and Delaware Avenue NE near the Capitol.

Calls to Stop Executions in Iran

Participants are expected to urge immediate international intervention to halt executions and mass killings in Iran and to hold officials involved in the regime’s judiciary accountable.

The demonstration will also call for stronger global support for the Iranian people’s resistance against the ruling establishment.

Support for Democratic Change

Organizers say the event will endorse the Ten-Point Plan proposed by Maryam Rajavi, which advocates for a democratic and secular republic in Iran.

The rally is also expected to highlight the role of Resistance Units linked to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in confronting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Organizers emphasize the slogan “No to the Shah, No to the Mullahs” as a central message of the gathering.

Growing International Support for Democratic Change

The Washington rally comes amid growing concern among human rights advocates over the increasing number of executions and arrests in Iran. Organizers and participants say the demonstration aims to build international support for regime change in Iran and the establishment of a democratic, secular republic led by the Iranian people.

Iranian youth activists have also voiced support for the demonstration, calling for an end to the executions of political prisoners and protesters and backing the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and democratic change.
