Oslo, Norway – July 18, 2026 – Following the UK government’s decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, supporters of the Iranian Resistance (NCRI and PMOI) held a rally in Oslo to welcome the move.
Mr. Parviz Khazaei, representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in the Nordic countries, attended the rally.
Participants described the proscription of the IRGC as a significant and long-overdue step toward holding the Iranian regime accountable for its terrorism, domestic repression, and destabilizing activities across the region. They welcomed the decision as a major blow to the ruling clerical regime in Tehran and stressed the need for continued international action against the regime’s principal instrument of repression and terrorism.
During the rally, demonstrators carried portraits of martyrs of Iran’s nationwide uprisings, as well as political prisoners and protesters who were executed by the clerical regime. They called for the accountability and prosecution of the regime’s leaders and all those responsible for these crimes, while reaffirming their determination to continue the struggle until the overthrow of the religious dictatorship ruling Iran.
Demonstrators also called for the closure of the Iranian regime’s embassy in Norway and the expulsion of its agents from the country through chants and banners displayed during the rally. They further called for regime change and the establishment of a democratic republic, rejecting both the former monarchy and the current clerical dictatorship.
