Bucharest, Romania – August 15, 2026 – Supporters of the Iranian Resistance (NCRI and PMOI) held a photo exhibition in Bucharest highlighting human rights violations in Iran and calling for urgent international action to stop the execution of political prisoners and prevent the implementation of death sentences.
“Urgent action is needed to stop the execution of political prisoners in Iran,” the exhibition emphasized, drawing attention to the continued detention of protesters arrested during Iran’s January 2026 uprising, as well as the executions and imminent execution of political prisoners.
The event called for the complete abolition of the death penalty in Iran and the immediate release of all political prisoners and detainees, particularly those facing imminent execution. Organizers also urged the international community to take action and called for senior Iranian regime officials to be held accountable before an international tribunal for crimes against humanity.
The exhibition expressed support for NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi and her “No to Executions “campaign, while reaffirming calls for fundamental political change in Iran and the establishment of a secular and democratic republic. The organizers rejected both the ruling theocracy and a return to monarchy.
The exhibition conveyed a clear message from Bucharest: stop the executions, prevent the implementation of death sentences, free all political prisoners, and support the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom, human rights, and democracy.
Romanian citizens who visited the exhibition expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and their aspirations for human rights, freedom, and democratic change.
