Cologne, Germany – August 1, 2026: Supporters of the Iranian Resistance, including the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI ) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), held a rally and photo exhibition in Cologne to protest the Iranian regime’s ongoing execution campaign and demand an immediate halt to death sentences.
Families of prisoners facing imminent execution joined the gathering, organized by the Iranian Resistance, and appealed to Germany, the European Union, and the United Nations to intervene without delay.
According to a report by the German Evangelical Press Service, the rally was part of a broader protest week taking place across dozens of major cities in Europe and the United States against the wave of executions in Iran.

Families of prisoners facing imminent execution joined the gathering and called on the German government, the European Union, and the United Nations to take immediate political and diplomatic action to stop further killings.
Organizers said that at least 39 political prisoners had been executed in recent weeks and that at least 100 more were in immediate danger of execution. Speakers warned that silence and inaction are seen in Tehran as a green light for expanding the killing campaign.

A former political prisoner who lives in Cologne said that the central conflict is between the regime and the Iranian people, adding that the regime is executing political prisoners out of fear of a new popular uprising, but that this policy only intensifies the explosive situation in society.
