Gothenburg, Sweden – August 1, 2026: Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered to protest the Iranian regime’s ongoing wave of executions and to call for an immediate halt to death sentences.
Protesters called on the Swedish government to take decisive action against the Iranian regime over its executions and terrorist activities, including closing the regime’s embassy in Sweden, which they described as a hub for espionage and terrorism. They also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners in Iran.
Demonstrators strongly condemned the ruling clerical regime, describing the executions as a blatant violation of human rights. Participants paid tribute to the victims by holding their photographs and reaffirmed their commitment to continue their struggle until the regime is overthrown and a democratic republic founded on peace, freedom, and justice is established in Iran.
Protesters also rejected all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic, emphasizing their opposition to both the rule of the Shah and the current clerical regime. They voiced support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) as a democratic alternative.
