Iranian Resistance Supporters Rally in Stockholm for Freedom and Democracy

Stockholm, September 12, 2026 — Supporters of the Iranian Resistance and members of the Iranian community gathered in Stockholm to mark the fourth anniversary of Iran’s nationwide uprising of September 2022.

The rally began in front of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where demonstrators voiced their support for the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and their rejection of all forms of dictatorship. They denounced both the former monarchical dictatorship and the current clerical dictatorship ruling Iran, emphasizing that the Iranian people seek neither a return to the past nor the continuation of the present regime, but a democratic future.

Alongside the march, a photo exhibition honoring protesters who lost their lives during the 2022 uprising was held, paying tribute to those who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom and keeping their memory and aspirations alive.

Following the gathering, demonstrators marched through the streets of Stockholm, raising calls for an end to executions of protesters and political prisoners and demanding the immediate release of political prisoners in Iran.

Maryam Rajavi’s Message and the Democratic Alternative

On this occasion, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), sent a message to freedom-loving Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance, reaffirming the enduring significance of the September 2022 uprising and the Iranian people’s determination to achieve freedom, democracy, and fundamental change in Iran.

The participants expressed their support for the organized Iranian Resistance and its democratic alternative, based on Mrs. Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan, which calls for the establishment of a democratic republic in Iran based on freedom, human rights, and the separation of religion and state. They also called on the international community to recognize the Iranian people’s organized resistance and to hold the clerical regime accountable for its crimes and human rights violations in Iran, stressing that impunity for those responsible for the repression and killing of protesters must end.

Four years after the 2022 uprising, the message of “Women, Resistance, Freedom” continues to resonate. The Stockholm demonstration reaffirmed the determination of supporters of the Iranian Resistance to keep the spirit of the uprising alive and to stand with the Iranian people in their struggle for a free, democratic, and secular republic.
