UK, Winchester – October 3, 2026: Members of the Academics in Exile Association in the UK, supporters of the Iranian Resistance (NCRI), held a book table and photo exhibition in Winchester on October 3, drawing public attention to the Iranian regime’s escalating wave of executions, systematic repression, and severe human rights violations.

The event received a strong response from members of the public, with visitors expressing solidarity with the Iranian people’s pursuit of freedom, democracy, justice, and a secular republic. The exhibition focused particular attention on the intensifying use of the death penalty by the Iranian authorities, including the execution of political prisoners and protesters arrested during the January 2026 uprising.

Through photographs, publications, and personal testimonies, the organizers sought to shed light on the human cost of repression in Iran and the suffering endured by ordinary people, while emphasizing their continued determination to reject all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic.

The exhibition also paid tribute to those who have lost their lives in the struggle for justice, freedom, and democratic change in Iran. The displays highlighted the growing concerns over systematic human rights abuses and called attention to the plight of prisoners facing execution and those subjected to political repression.

Participants at the event expressed their solidarity with the Iranian people and signed petitions urging the United Nations and the international community to take concrete measures to address executions and human rights violations in Iran, and to support the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom, human rights, and democratic change.

The organizers said the initiative was intended to help raise public awareness in the UK of the ongoing human rights crisis in Iran and to ensure that the voices and experiences of victims of repression are not overlooked.
