Iranian Resistance Supporters Hold Global Anti-Execution Events on World Day Against the Death Penalty

Iranian Resistance supporters join a symbolic run in solidarity with Iranian prisoners and against executions.

Symbolic endurance runs in nine cities and solidarity actions across 21 cities called for an end to executions in Iran and supported prisoners protesting the death penalty.

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, World Day Against the Death Penalty, supporters of the Iranian Resistance and human rights advocates held events in cities across Europe, Australia and North America. The program included symbolic endurance runs in nine cities and other solidarity actions, all drawing attention to executions in Iran and expressing support for prisoners facing death sentences.

Symbolic Runs for Freedom

The endurance runs took place in Paris, London, Cologne, Rome, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Oslo, Sydney and Luxembourg. Participants described the runs as a symbol of the long and difficult path of the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom.

Through these sporting and political actions, they sought to draw international attention to the growing use of executions in Iran and show solidarity with political prisoners and protesters.

The campaign opposed the execution of political prisoners and protesters arrested during recent nationwide uprisings, as well as the death penalty in all its forms. Participants called for executions to stop immediately.

Support for Prisoners’ Campaign

Participants also voiced support for the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, then in its 141st consecutive week and active in 66 prisons across Iran. They called on the international community, human rights organizations and Western governments to take urgent action to stop executions and abolish death sentences against political prisoners and protesters.

Other events were held in Gothenburg, Vienna, Washington, Aarhus, Atlanta, Berlin, Malmö, Vancouver, Copenhagen, Dallas, San Francisco, Houston and Los Angeles, bringing the total number of cities named in the campaign to 21.

Call for a Democratic Iran

The events also highlighted support for the Ten-Point Plan of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. The plan envisions a free, democratic and secular Iran, with the abolition of the death penalty, guarantees of individual freedoms, separation of religion and state, gender equality and an independent judiciary.

Participants said their actions affirmed the right to life and rejected the use of executions to suppress dissent. The coordinated events aimed to amplify the voices of political prisoners and the Iranian people calling for an end to the death penalty.
