Malmö, Sweden – November 7, 2026 – Supporters of the Iranian Resistance, including the PMOI/MEK and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), held a rally and photo exhibition in Malmö to mark the seventh anniversary of the nationwide November 2019 uprising and honor its martyrs. The event also protested the Iranian regime’s continued use of the death penalty and called attention to political prisoners and protesters facing execution.
Rally Against Executions
Demonstrators condemned the threatened executions of political prisoners and protesters arrested during recent nationwide uprisings, as well as the use of the death penalty in all its forms. They called for an immediate halt to all executions in Iran.
Participants denounced the actions of Iran’s ruling clerical regime, describing executions as clear violations of fundamental human rights. They also paid tribute to the victims by displaying their photographs.
Honoring November 2019 Martyrs
The rally was held to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the nationwide November 2019 uprising and to honor the martyrs of that protest movement. Organizers said the event reaffirmed the enduring legacy of those who rose against repression and demanded freedom and justice.
Call to Close Iranian Embassy
Demonstrators called on the Swedish government to close the Iranian regime’s embassy in Sweden as a center for espionage and terrorism targeting freedom-seeking Iranians, particularly supporters of the Iranian Resistance.
Democratic Alternative
The participants reaffirmed their determination to continue their struggle until the regime is overthrown and a democratic republic based on peace, freedom, and justice is established. They also rejected all forms of dictatorship, whether monarchical or theocratic, opposing both the former Shah’s rule and the current mullah-led regime.
They expressed support for the NCRI as a democratic alternative. The NCRI describes itself as a broad coalition seeking a pluralistic republic, separation of religion and state, gender equality, abolition of the death penalty, and free elections.
