Iran’s youth resist mullahs’ regime
The Iranian people are suffering greatly at the moment as several disasters hit the country at once, from the coronavirus outbreak that is spreading uncontrolled over the country to the flash floods in 14 provinces to the earthquakes in northwest and south-central Iran to the locust invasion destroying crops in the southern provinces.
The Iranian regime, desperate to stay in power and aware that the ultimate goal of the people is to overthrow the mullahs and attain freedom for Iran, have tried to hide or downplay these events in the hopes of making themselves look strong and stable.
The regime has failed and has only made the rebellious youth more focused on overthrowing the mullahs, something that has been apparent in their renewed anti-regime actions.
On February 26, in Isfahan, the rebellious youth set fire to the entrance of the Basij headquarters in Fouladshahr
For context, the Basij is the paramilitary branch of the regime’s terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards, which is the main suppressive group in crackdowns on protests and demonstrations. In addition to their salaries, the regime gives Basij members special allocation in universities and government jobs.
During the November 2019 uprising, Supreme leader Ali Khamenei told the Basij forces to patrol the streets and attack anyone who showed dissent. At least 1,500 peaceful protesters were shot dead in just two days.
On February 23, the young people created an evening of chaos for the regime in Tehran. They:
- burned an effigy of Khamenei on Niyayesh Highway
- pulled down the signs of a suppressive centre of Basiji women and the mullahs’ intelligence ministry, which is disguised as a female Islamic school

- regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini
- criminal IRGC commander Qasem Soleimani
Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike in January and the regime has spent much money to glorify him and make the world think he was beloved by the Iranian people, something that is not true at all.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) wrote: “These Iranian youths are proving once again that the devious mullahs’ regime will not be allowed to promote the image of this terrorist who has the blood of thousands of Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians, and others on his hands. In their activities, these rebellious youths also emphasized the Iranian people’s desire to overthrow the criminal and fundamentalist mullah regime… The activities of the rebellious youth of Iran reflects the people’s hatred for [the Basij and the regime].”
