Anti-Regime Activities Continue Across Iran

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran’s (PMOI/MEK) Resistance Units organized many anti-regime activities across the country this past week, following the execution of protester and wrestling champion Navid Afkari.

The Resistance Units members hailed Afkari, 27, as a national hero and vowed to overthrow the mullahs’ regime in his memory, knowing that they would be risking their own lives.

They used graffiti to spread their messages of hope and unity in almost 40 cities, including Ahvaz, Abadan, Aliabad-e Katul, Bojnourd, Bonab, Bumahen, Eslamshahr, Fasa, Gorgan, Ghaen, Garmsar, Isfahan, Jahrom, Kord, Karaj, Khorramabad, Kuhdasht, Kashan, Kerman, Kermanshah, Lordegan, Lorestan, Lahijan, Mashhad, Marvdasht, Mahshahr, Qom, Qaemshahr, Qazvin, Sari, Shahr-e Rasht, Shiraz, Sonqor, Tehran, Tabriz, Varamin, and Zahedan,

These slogans included:

The Resistance Units also put up huge banners of Resistance Leaders Massoud and Maryam Rajavi in public places of many cities, even though the regime is currently handing out heavy sentences to MEK supporters in an attempt to crush future protests before they start. Something that has never worked in the past.

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei seeks to boost the morale of his forces, who are increasingly scared of the public outrage, but the people are stronger and are taking part in protests regardless.

Recently, the young people set fire to three Basij bases in Isfahan, Khorramabad, and Eslamshahr. (The Basij are the most-hated Iranian paramilitary force and a subsidiary of the IRGC.) While a centre for spreading fundamentalism in Shiraz, associated with Naser Makarem Shirazi, the representative of Khamenei in the city was also burned. In addition, young people torched an office of the Guardian Council – a body that is responsible for the mullahs’ fundamentalist rules and regulations and in overseen solely by Khamenei – in Sonqor, Kermanshah Province,

At the same time, all over the country, many defiant and brave young people set fire to Khamenei’s images in protest to Afkari’s execution. The Iranian people’s anger burns brighter and hotter than these fires and will soon burn the regime down.
