MEK Resistance Units Take Action Against Iranian Regime's Oppression—April 17–23, 2023

Iran, April 17–23, 2023: The Iranian regime is committing new crimes in response to the uprising that began in 2022. The regime has launched chemical attacks targeting schools and, specifically, schoolgirls. This crime is intended to terrorize the Iranian people and prevent them from opposing the regime. Furthermore, the regime aims to reinforce its dome of suppression over Iran.

In response, MEK Resistance Units continue their efforts to oppose the regime’s suppressive measures. Last week, Resistance Units torched banners of Khamenei and IRGC Basij signs in public areas. They also took to graffiti in streets and installed images of Iranian Resistance leaders, including the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi.

Resistance Units also marched in public areas in five cities, including Tehran, Shiraz, Bandar-e Abbas, Hamadan, and Chalus. They chanted slogans against the Iranian regime’s rule. This is an effective act to crack the dome of suppression and shows a turning point in Resistance Units’ progress, where they combine and establish stronger units. This is especially challenging as the regime punishes any kind of support for the MEK with heavy sentences and possibly execution.

Other Resistance Units’ activities included installing large posters of Maryam Rajavi in public and distributing photos of her in the streets.
On these posters, the Resistance Units wrote that the only way toward freedom is to resist and take the offensive.

Writing graffiti and slogans on walls, including, “Down with Khamenei; Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi; Down with Khamenei, viva Rajavi.” They also distributed leaflets across cities.

In Sistan and Baluchestan province, MEK Resistance Units repeated one of the main slogans of the Iranian people, which is “No to Shah and No to mullahs; Down with the oppressor, be it the Shah or Ali Khamenei.”

Resistance Units also commemorated the memory of MEK martyrs and other freedom fighters who were executed and murdered by the Shah regime. They installed their photos in the streets and paid homage by laying flowers on their gravestones.

MEK Resistance Units continue to show their determination to oppose the Iranian regime’s rule in various forms. The regime’s brutal and oppressive actions have not deterred the Resistance Units’ members from taking action to achieve freedom and democracy for the Iranian people. The Resistance Units’ acts serve as a reminder of the Iranian people’s unwavering commitment to their just cause, despite facing incredible odds.
