Iran: MEK Resistance Units Continue Efforts in Multiple Cities

Iran, May 8-14, 2023: During the last week, MEK Resistance Units inside Iran continued their activities against the Iranian regime’s suppressive institutions. They torched the entrance of IRGC Basij bases and fundamentalism propaganda centers and the regime’s icons in different cities.

On the one hand, these acts help to boost the Iranian people’s morale after years of suppression and dictatorship under the rule of the mullahs. On the other hand, these activities send a message to regime officials and its forces that the Iranian people are determined to overthrow the regime by any means.

Resistance Units also projected images of NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi and Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi in four cities in Iran.

On May 11, the MEK network inside Iran portrayed a large image of Massoud Rajavi in Nassery Blvd. in Iran’s second-largest city of Mashhad. The image also read “Hail to the democratic revolution of the Iranian people.”

On May 9, at 8 PM in the crowded Payam Blvd. in the city of Dezful, southwest Iran, Resistance Units also projected a large image of Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi. This image was projected on a large building, which many people could see in this crowded street.

On May 7, at 10:45 PM local time, Resistance Units projected a large image of Maryam Rajavi in Resalat Hwy. In the capital, Tehran. The projection read, “We can liberate our occupied homeland.”

On the same day, Resistance Units made a similar projection in the city of Behbahan, at the Arjan Sq.
The importance of these acts can be understood when we consider the fact that such activities can have severe consequences for the Resistance Units. The regime arrests, imprisons, tortures, and even executes anyone who supports the MEK. The fate of many MEK supporters that have been arrested by the regime’s security forces is still unknown.

The Iranian regime has executed over 200 individuals since January, said the UN human rights chief on May 9. Forty-five of them were executed within just 14 days. This shows how the Iranian regime desperately needs to intimidate the society through violence in order to maintain its shaky rule for a bit longer. So, one can imagine how the regime is in dire need of arresting or executing MEK members and Resistance Units.
