Resistance Units in Iran Commemorate MEK Founders, Executed by the Shah Regime in 1972

Iran, May 15-28, 2023: As Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), continues her efforts across the globe to advocate for the human rights and freedom of the Iranian people, the network of People’s Mojahedin Organization inside Iran, MEK Resistance Units voice their support for her efforts.

On May 20, 2023, in a powerful demonstration of their support for Maryam Rajavi, the MEK Resistance Units operating in Rezvanshahr, Gilan province, projected an image of Maryam Rajavi and the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi. The image was projected onto a prominent building situated on Municipality Street, captivating the attention of passersby.

Emblazoned with the words “Viva Rajavi,” the image conveyed a resounding message of unity, determination, and hope for a free and democratic Iran. The act of projecting the images serves as a powerful symbol of the Iranian people’s commitment to the cause of liberation and their support for Maryam Rajavi.

Projecting the image of Maryam Rajavi carries immense significance in terms of symbolism, inspiration, challenging the regime, mobilizing support, and gaining international visibility. It serves as a powerful statement of resistance and a reminder that the Iranian people are determined to achieve their aspirations for a free and democratic Iran.

During the last week, MEK Resistance Units also installed posters of Maryam Rajavi and Massoud Rajavi in public places.

They also commemorated the memory of the founders of MEK by installing their images in public or sending messages.

May 25 marked the 51st anniversary of the execution of Mohammad Hanifnejad, Saeid Mohsen, and Ali Asghar Badizadegan, the founders of the PMOI/MEK. These courageous individuals, whose crime was to desire freedom in their country, were executed by the Shah regime in 1972, after months of resistance under brutal torture by the SAVAK, Shah’s secret police.

MEK Resistance Units stand as a groundbreaking force, shining as a guiding light for uprisings and the pursuit of freedom. They serve as an extension of the dedicated MEK members and 120,000 martyrs who selflessly sacrificed their lives over the span of five decades in the name of liberty. These units embody the spirit of a rebellious generation, playing a pivotal role in igniting and driving nationwide uprisings.
