Iran: MEK Resistance Units Mark the New Academic Year With Anti-Regime Activities Across the Country

September 20-22, 2023—At the start of the new academic year, which coincides with the anniversary of Iran’s 2022 uprising, the regime’s security forces are on alert. The opening of schools and universities and student gatherings is one of the regime’s concerns for the start of the next uprising.

With the beginning of the new academic year, Resistance Units, the network of Mujahedin-e Khalq (PMOI/MEK) within Iran, installed posters and pictures of the NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi, in public places, distributing messages of Maryam Rajavi in various cities across Iran.

In Tehran, Resistance Units wrote, “This year is the year of the expansion of Resistance Units in schools and universities.”

“The new academic year is the year of rebellion and uprising for the overthrow of the regime.”
One of the Resistance Units in Karaj wrote on a placard, “Turn every school into a Resistance Unit.”
And a Resistance Unit in Mashhad stated, “We will turn every university into a Resistance Unit.”

Resistance Units also published messages of Maryam Rajavi for the new academic year in dozens of other cities in Iran and emphasized their commitment and activities in schools and universities by sending messages.”

A team of Resistance Units in Tehran, holding posters of Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi with the message: “In Iran’s contemporary history, the PMOI/MEK are the guarantors of overthrowing the inhumane regime.”

“Anyone who seeks freedom for Iran must rise up for the regime’s overthrow.”
“The path of the PMOI guides the new generation in the streets during uprisings.”

From September 20 to 22, Resistance Units distributed and installed posters of Maryam Rajavi and Massoud Rajavi on the streets and public places.

With every passing day, more youth who want to free their country from the evil clutches of the mullahs’ regime, realize that the true path to freedom is through organized resistance, as the PMOI has been doing for more than four decades.

Another activity of the Resistance Units from September 20 to 22 was writing slogans on the walls of various cities. One of the Units in Urmia wrote: “Don’t say your problem is just the hijab; their fear is the revolution.” This refers to the regime’s attempts to pretend that the young people of Iran only desire freedom from hijab rules and not full freedom and liberation from the clerical dictatorship.

Resistance Units also wrote slogans on many walls in various cities, including “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or Ali Khamenei” and “Death to the dictator.”

Some teams of the Resistance Unit also spray-painted images of Massoud Rajavi on walls.
One of the slogans written on the walls was a popular slogan among the people of Iran during the 2022 uprising: “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or Ali Khamenei.” This slogan was a response from the people of Iran rejecting any form of dictatorship, indicating that they do not want the current dictatorship, nor do they desire the return of a monarchical dictatorship.

The slogan written by the Units continued to spread in many cities. These slogans both encourage the people of Iran to rise up and engage the regime forces in erasing or overwriting these slogans on walls. However, the Units and youths continue to fill these walls with slogans again and again.

One of the goals of the Resistance Units is to disrupt the suffocating atmosphere in society against the suppressive forces. On September 20 and 21, Resistance Units began marching in public places, chanting slogans loudly.

In Behshahr, they chanted slogans like “Death to Khamenei, Hail to Rajavi” and also“Democracy and Freedom with Maryam Rajavi.”

One of the Resistance Units in Tehran chanted the slogan, “We are warriors! we will fight, and we will take back Iran.”

The slogan ‘Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader’ was also chanted, emphasizing the rejection of any form of oppression, whether it’s under the monarchy or the current regime.
Resistance Units have shown that they are the only force that can defy the regime’s suppression, spreading the message of freedom and hope throughout the nation.

They’re a beacon of inspiration, rallying a new generation to fight for a free Iran. Composed of many young, motivated freedom fighters, Resistance Units have proved that this path can lead to overthrowing the regime and establishing a free and democratic republic of Iran.
