Simultaneously fueling conflict in the Middle East and enforcing a brutal domestic crackdown, Iran’s regime has executed over 100 individuals in the past month alone. Political executions, such as those of Milad Zohrevand 21-year-old detainees of the 2022 Iranian uprising and Ali Saber Motlaq a supporter of the MEK, are on the rise, aiming to instill terror and dissuade citizens from participating in resistance and organized protests. Despite these efforts, the regime has faltered in achieving its objectives, evident in the activities of the Resistance Units, a network of supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) within the country.
The Resistance Units, in their recent endeavors nationwide, have disseminated messages from Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI president-elect Maryam Rajavi. Actions include hanging posters of Maryam Rajavi from bridges in Shiraz and Mashhad.
In Sari, a group of Resistance Units members marched in streets and chanted, “Our battlefield is Iran. The head of the snake is in Tehran. Death to Khamenei. Hail to Rajavi.”, and installing posters of Massoud Rajavi in Tehran, Karaj, and Shiraz proclaiming the unstoppable nature of the people’s uprising.
In Tehran, the Resistance Units displayed a photo of Maryam Rajavi with a resolute message, while Mashhad saw the holding of photos and placards expressing support for freedom, democracy, and resistance against the ruling mullahs. In various regions, including Sistan and Baluchestan province, the Resistance Units extended their support to oppressed communities, emphasizing the inevitability of the regime’s overthrow.
Despite the regime’s attempts to divert attention through excuses like the war in Gaza, the looming threat of protests exposes its waning authority. The Resistance Units persistently counter the regime’s tactics, signaling that neither warmongering nor suppressive measures will rescue the regime from its imminent downfall.
