Resistance Units Celebrate the Liberation of Massoud Rajavi

Iran, January 2024: January 20th commemorates the liberation of the final group of political prisoners from Shah’s prison in 1979. On this significant day, 126 political prisoners, including Massoud Rajavi and other prominent members of the MEK, were released.

This event marked a pivotal moment in Iran’s history. Following the release of these political prisoners, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and other freedom-seeking groups played an active role in the protests that ultimately shaped the 1979 revolution. Less than a month later, the monarchy crumbled.

For members and supporters of the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance, January 20 holds immense importance. Each year, the event is commemorated by members of the Resistance Units, a network of PMOI supporters and activists within Iran, who mark the occasion throughout the country.

Below you can read some of the slogans that have been installed on banners, posters, and placards by Resistance Units and distributed in cities across Iran:

Massoud Rajavi: Setting fire to the manifestations of dictatorship is the way of the resistance units.

Overthrow the regime with resistance units and rebel cities.

The democratic revolution of the Iranian people will prevail.

We must overthrow the regime in its entirety and take back Iran.

Let the people of the world know that Massoud is our leader.

Massoud Rajavi: Our stars are determined to create a new plan in the social and political sphere of this country.

It is the time of multiplication and expansion of resistance units, neighborhoods, and rebel cities.

The tremors of overthrowing the entirety of religious tyranny are shaking the ground.

The vote of the Iranian people is to resist and overthrow the regime of the mullahs.

The Resistance Units also commemorated the January 20th anniversary by projecting images of Massoud Rajavi on the walls of public places in numerous cities. Accompanying these visuals were messages of resistance and defiance against the regime. These activities unfolded in various cities, including Tehran, Shiraz, Karaj, Rasht, Isfahan, Arak, Mashhad, Kermanshah, and others.

As the regime endeavors to suppress any support for the PMOI and the NCRI, the Resistance Units have intensified their actions. One manifestation of this is an ongoing court case involving over 100 members of the PMOI and the NCRI, a case publicized by the regime for several months, with hearings set to commence this week.

Despite the regime’s attempts to dismantle Iran’s Resistance movement and dissuade the new generation from joining the PMOI’s cause, they are initiating another court case in the hope of instilling fear in the public. Simultaneously, the regime is undertaking extensive propaganda efforts to vilify the PMOI and instigate fear among the Iranian public, particularly the youth who are disillusioned with tyranny and advocate for regime change.

However, not only has the regime’s efforts failed to dismay Iran’s youths from gravitating toward the PMOI but it has steeled their resolve to be part of the movement to overthrow the religious fascism that has taken Iran hostage for its evil deeds.
