MEK Resistance Units Persist Against Repression with Nationwide Activities in Iran

The Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) have been actively expanding their efforts throughout Iran, despite facing severe repression from the regime. These activists continue to call for regime change and the establishment of a democratic republic that rejects both the Shah’s regime and the current mullahs’ rule. Their commitment remains strong in the fight to overthrow the ruling theocracy and create a secular state with a clear separation of religion and state.

Over 3,000 activities have been reported in cities including Tehran, Karaj, Ahvaz, Damavand, Amol, Zahedan, Lahijan, Semnan, Rasht, Shiraz, and Babol.

Key themes in their activities include support for Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan, which envisions a free, secular, and non-nuclear Iran. Rajavi is the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

The Resistance Units also marked the death of Ebrahim Raisi, the regime’s president, notorious for his involvement in the 1988 massacre of over 30,000 political prisoners. In Damavand, a placard read, “We commemorate 30,000 massacred PMOI members and freedom fighters, which the people of Iran will never forget. The justice-seeking movement will continue until the regime is overthrown.”

Additionally, the Resistance Units promoted the slogan “Woman, Resistance, Freedom,” emphasizing the vital role of women in the struggle for freedom in Iran.

The MEK Resistance Units’ widespread activities illustrate their resilience and determination in the face of oppression. By continuing to organize and mobilize across numerous cities, they convey a strong message to the regime: their voices will not be silenced, and their quest for a democratic Iran will persist.

Through their ongoing efforts, the PMOI Resistance Units reiterate the core principles of the Iranian Resistance: a commitment to a democratic republic, separation of religion and state, gender equality, and the abolition of the death penalty. These principles stand in stark contrast to the oppressive policies of the ruling theocracy.
