MEK Resistance Units in Zahedan: Rejecting Both Shah and Mullahs

MEK Resistance Units in Zahedan – April 11, 2025

Zahedan, Baluchestan Province – April 11, 2025 — In a powerful display of resistance against tyranny, the PMOI (MEK) Resistance Units in Zahedan have launched a wave of bold actions, defying the regime’s heavy-handed security and surveillance measures. Braving the presence of the Revolutionary Guard and the Ministry of Intelligence, these units spread anti-regime leaflets and covered city walls with defiant slogans calling for freedom and democratic change.

These acts of protest, carried out under intense repression, highlight the unwavering resolve of the Resistance Units, who represent the aspirations of a people seeking to break free from both religious autocracy and monarchical rule. One of the most prominent messages read: “Neither Mullahs nor Shah — But Freedom and a Democratic Republic.”

Carrying placards through the city, they exposed the regime’s duplicity with slogans such as: “The execution of political prisoners on the eve of negotiations with America is the other face of the executions under Pezhashkian.” Another striking message declared: “The curse of the people and history on the murderous Shah and the mullahs,” a clear denunciation of all forms of authoritarianism—be it religious or royal.

One of the placards raised by the Resistance Units in Zahedan also read, “Woman, Resistance, Freedom,” underscoring their commitment to the women’s equality movement within the Iranian Resistance.

Other slogans scrawled across neighborhoods included: “Dictatorship is dictatorship… whether in a turban or a crown,” and “The Shah and the Supreme Leader thirst for the people’s blood,” condemning both past and present forms of despotism in Iran.

Leaflets circulated by the Resistance Units emphasized the urgency of nationwide uprising, stating: “Confronting this regime is the mission of the Iranian people, the rebellious youth, and the National Liberation Army of Iran,” and “From Zahedan to Tehran… Death to the tyrant, whether Shah or Khamenei.”

This movement reflects the courage and determination of the Iranian youth—particularly in marginalized regions like Zahedan—to speak out, resist, and reclaim their future. Their message is unmistakable: the reign of tyranny is coming to an end, and a new chapter of freedom and democracy is on the horizon.
