Iran, June 20, 2025: Despite intense security and surveillance, the PMOI Resistance Units in Zahedan—the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan province—commemorated the anniversary of the June 20, 1981, nationwide protests in Iran. This pivotal event marked the beginning of organized resistance against the ruling clerical regime. On that day, regime security forces violently attacked peaceful demonstrators, triggering a brutal crackdown characterized by torture, mass arrests, and executions.

The Resistance Units in Zahedan in their banners rejected of both the former Shah ’s monarchy and the current mullahs’ theocracy. Slogans such as “Neither the Shah’s dictatorship nor the Mullahs’ leadership; the Iranian people demand a democratic republic” and “A dictatorship is a dictatorship, whether with a turban or a crown” underscored this stance.

Other messages like “Baluchestan is awake; it despises the Shah and the Mullahs” and “The Velayat and the Shah’s dictatorship: one hundred years of crime” reflect a unified vision within the resistance to prevent any return to tyranny under a new guise.

The brave members of the Resistance Units in Zahedan also emphasized, through their placards and banners, the Iranian people’s demand for recognition of their resistance and the Resistance Units’ struggle for freedom.
