On the third anniversary of the Zahedan Bloody Friday massacre, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units staged bold anti-regime operations nationwide, underscoring the unyielding spirit of defiance against the regime’s savage crackdowns.
On September 30, 2022, Iranian security forces fired on unarmed protesters in Zahedan, killing at least 82 people amid demonstrations sparked by a policeman’s rape of a young girl—an event tied to the 2022 Nationwide Uprising, triggered weeks earlier by the custody death of Mahsa Amini, which mobilized millions against the regime’s oppressive rule. Despite intensified repression since then, the PMOI Resistance Units turned this anniversary into a bold act of defiance.
From September 26 to 29, 2025, these activist networks launched coordinated actions across Iran, from urban streets to martyr sites, proclaiming that the martyrs’ blood fuels an enduring revolution, connecting Zahedan’s tragedy to the uprising’s nationwide flame.

#MUSTSEE NEW FOOTAGE FROM TEHRAN🚨 A parade of one of the #MEKResistanceUnits in Tehran. Absolutely unprecedented. Courageous beyond words.
In #Iran, even the smallest link to the #MEK carries the death penalty. Today, 15 supporters are on death row. Just two months ago, two MEK… https://t.co/Sgnm9ZEIun pic.twitter.com/t6H4Br6Ei2

Slogans and Declarations Nationwide
Across cities like Tehran, Mashhad, Ardebil, Isfahan, and Rudsar, units scrawled graffiti and banners: “No to the Shah, no to the mullahs”; “The overthrow of this anti-human regime is inevitable”; “Toward victory”; “Down with the oppressor, be it Shah or supreme leader.” These linked Zahedan’s stand to the Nationwide Uprising.
Visual Tributes and Motorcades
In Kuhdasht and Iranshahr, units displayed martyrs’ images and conducted motorcades through the night, evading surveillance to honor the fallen from Mahsa Amini to Zahedan’s victims.
Unbreakable Resistance
Despite arrests and repression, units deployed projected images of heroes, candlelit vigils, and overnight graffiti as memorials and calls to action. Bloody Friday fuels the 2022 Nationwide Uprising toward a secular, democratic republic, vowing the regime’s end.
