On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out a series of coordinated activities in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The activists displayed banners and slogans calling for the overthrow of the clerical dictatorship and rejecting any form of autocracy—whether monarchy or mullahs’ rule—while affirming the Iranian people’s demand for freedom and a democratic republic.
Slogans and Messages
The Resistance Units’ banners and graffiti featured messages such as:
Massoud Rajavi: “Khamenei , greet your downfall and overthrow just as the Shah did!”
Maryam Rajavi: “We have chosen to stand and fight so that our people may achieve freedom and happiness.”
Maryam Rajavi: “The main war that has continued for forty-four years is between the people of Iran and a religious fascism called Velayat-e Faqih.”
Massoud Rajavi: “We want Iran; we want to reclaim our homeland; we want our captive people freed.”
Massoud Rajavi: “One step to uprising.”
Maryam Rajavi: “The time has come to recognize the struggle, resistance, and uprising of the Iranian people to change this regime.”
Maryam Rajavi: “This regime has taken the freedom of the Iranian people, peace in the Middle East, and world security hostage.”
“Neither monarchy nor the clerical leadership — democracy and equality.”
“Neither the cleric nor the Shah — freedom and a democratic republic.”
“The people of Iran will not rest until they are liberated from a regime of executions, plunder, and massacres.”
“Death to the oppressor — whether Shah or Supreme Leader.”
“The religious fascism of the Velayat-e Faqih is weaker than ever.”
A Message of Defiance and Hope
Through these slogans, the Resistance Units reaffirmed their total rejection of both monarchy and clerical rule, insisting that democracy, equality, and popular sovereignty are the only acceptable future for Iran. The slogans’ recurring theme – “One step to uprising” – symbolized an intensifying mood of resistance against the regime’s repression.
The statements by Massoud and Maryam Rajavi reflected the determination of the organized resistance to continue the struggle until the Iranian people achieve freedom and justice. Their words invoked both national pride and a call to reclaim Iran from dictatorship.
Context and Significance
Zahedan has long been a focal point of social unrest and a symbol of defiance against the regime’s injustices. By conducting these actions there, the Resistance Units highlighted the nationwide scope of the organized movement. Despite the regime’s heavy security presence, activists risked arrest and persecution to spread their message of change and hope.
