MEK Resistance Units Launch Nationwide Campaign Marking Maryam Rajavi’s Election Anniversary

Iran, October 2025: PMOI Resistance Units mark the anniversary of Maryam Rajavi’s introduction as president-elect of the NCRI.

As the anniversary of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s election as president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) approached, Iran witnessed a wave of bold, coordinated actions by MEK Resistance Units. Their multi-day campaign, spanning Tehran and cities nationwide, challenged the regime’s authority and exposed a growing, organized network inside the country.

Nationwide Defiance and Organization

Beginning on October 18, Resistance Units carried out 23 acts of defiance across 13 cities. Massive banners of Maryam Rajavi appeared in Ahvaz, Shushtar, and Kermanshah, bearing messages like “The army of women and the oppressed will uproot this regime.” In Isfahan, her name was projected on the Si-o-Se-Pol bridge, while similar slogans such as “We can and we must overthrow the mullahs’ regime” appeared in Tehran, Mashhad, Zahedan, Karaj, Sanandaj, Semnan, Kashan, Andimeshk, and Yasuj.

The following day, October 19, the movement expanded. Resistance Units organized 33 coordinated operations across 25 cities, acting in disciplined teams rather than individuals. In Tehran, women’s groups displayed banners and slogans in unison, while in Isfahan and Fuladshahr, members pledged to continue the struggle with chants like “Woman, Resistance, Freedom.” From Urmia and Tabriz to Shiraz and Zahedan, the simultaneous actions reflected growing structure and unity.

A Clear Political Message

Beyond protest, the campaign voiced a vision for a democratic Iran based on Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan. Slogans such as “Iranian women are Khamenei’s endless nightmare” and “Uprising and resistance are the only way” resonated nationwide. In Mashhad, Tabriz, and Shiraz, participants responded with “Hazer, Hazer!”—a pledge of readiness for freedom. The campaign concluded on October 20 with a Tehran motorcade carrying yellow flags marked with “Simorgh,” symbolizing renewal and hope.

Regime’s Unease and Admission

Despite its surveillance networks, the regime was caught off guard by the Resistance Units’ scope and coordination. In a revealing admission, the IRGC’s intelligence branch, through Mashregh News, warned that the MEK’s “Resistance Units project” aimed to “provoke public opinion and reorganize the network of riots.” This acknowledgment underscores the regime’s growing fear of an organized, strategic resistance taking shape within Iran.
