Despite the heavy presence of security forces, the MEK Resistance Units resumed their anti-regime activities in the city of Zahedan on Friday, January 30. Through banners, placards, and slogans displayed in images and video clips, the Resistance Units underscored their steadfast resolve to confront the ruling theocracy and to advance the struggle for a democratic republic in Iran.
The activities focused on highlighting the long-standing demand of the Iranian Resistance for the terrorist designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a demand first raised decades ago. The Resistance Units stressed that this designation must translate into concrete political and moral support for the Iranian people’s right to resist repression and dictatorship.
Slogans and messages displayed by the Resistance Units included:
“The Iranian Resistance has demanded the terrorist designation of the IRGC since three decades ago.”
“Just as they demanded the dissolution of the SAVAK, the people of Iran demand the dissolution of the IRGC.”
“The terrorist designation of IRGC must be complemented with the recognition of the right of Iran’s youth to fight against the IRGC as well as the right for regime change by the people of Iran and their Resistance.”
“The people of Iran will no longer tolerate the SAVAK or IRGC or MOIS and want a democratic republic based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”
“The terrorist designation of the IRGC by the European Union is the urgent answer to the massacre of the youth of Iran’s uprising.”
“Hail to the rebellious youth of Iran who paid a heavy and bloody price from December 28 to January 11.”
“The revenue of every barrel of oil that the mullahs’ regime sells is used to purchase bullets that take the lives of those who are calling for freedom in the streets of Iran.”

The Resistance Units emphasized that the struggle of Iran’s youth against repression is inseparable from the broader demand for regime change and the establishment of a democratic republic that rejects all forms of dictatorship. They reaffirmed that, despite arrests, intimidation, and an expanded security crackdown, resistance activities will continue across Iran until freedom and popular sovereignty are achieved.
