MEK Resistance Units Defy Repression with Public Activities in Zahedan

Despite heightened repression and the tense atmosphere created by the regime’s security forces, MEK Resistance Units resumed their public activities in Zahedan on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Members of the MEK Resistance Units took to the streets of the southeastern city, displaying placards and banners in support of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its call for the establishment of a democratic republic in Iran. Their messages reflected the Iranian people’s demand for freedom, popular sovereignty, and fundamental civil liberties.

Rejecting Both Dictatorships: “No to the Shah, No to the Mullahs”

The activists emphasized that the Iranian people reject all forms of dictatorship. Their banners and slogans echoed the popular chant heard during nationwide protests: “No to the Shah, no to the mullahs,” highlighting the determination of Iranians to end clerical rule while rejecting any return to monarchical dictatorship.

MEK Resistance Units warned that certain monarchist factions are attempting to exploit the sacrifices made by the Iranian people during recent uprisings. According to the activists, the ongoing movement in Iran represents a comprehensive struggle against dictatorship in all its forms.

Continued Resistance Despite Security Threats

Operating under constant risk of arrest and surveillance, the activists carried out their activities in public spaces to challenge the regime’s attempts to silence dissent. Their presence in the streets of Zahedan underscored the persistence of organized resistance networks despite the regime’s intensified crackdown.

Participants also reaffirmed their determination to continue the struggle against the system of absolute clerical rule. In their statements, they warned the regime’s leadership that the Iranian people’s resistance will continue until freedom and democracy are achieved.

Youth and Resistance Units Driving the Movement for Change

Organizers of the activities stressed the growing role of youth activists and MEK Resistance Units across Iran. According to their statements, these networks are playing an increasingly important role in sustaining protests and organizing resistance against the ruling establishment.

They emphasized that meaningful political change will not emerge from within the current ruling structure but through the continued mobilization of the Iranian people and the expansion of organized resistance.

Call for International Recognition of the Iranian People’s Struggle

The activists also called on the international community to recognize the Iranian people’s right to resist tyranny and establish a democratic republic. They urged governments and international institutions to support the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and to hold the regime accountable for its repression.

According to the organizers, the activities in Zahedan demonstrate that despite severe repression, the Iranian people’s movement for democracy continues to expand.
