Resistance Units intensify anti-regime actions and promote a democratic republic despite executions and repression
Following the nationwide January uprisings, Iran’s ruling regime has escalated executions and repression in an attempt to silence dissent. So far, eight members of the MEK have been executed, alongside several protesters arrested during the uprising. Despite the crackdown, MEK Resistance Units have expanded their activities across the country.
On May 5, Resistance Units honored executed members through public actions in multiple cities. In Iranshahr and Karaj, activists displayed placards pledging to continue the struggle “until the end.” In Mashhad, supporters praised the sacrifice and steadfastness of the executed members, while in Zahedan anti-regime graffiti declared, “Down with Khamenei the murderer.”
At the same time, Resistance Units promoted the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s proposal for a provisional democratic government. In Bushehr and Ahvaz, activists expressed support for a democratic republic based on Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan. In Qaen, signs described democracy and freedom as the only path to save Iran.

In Karaj and Bushehr, activists also rejected both monarchy and religious dictatorship with slogans including, “No to monarchy and no to religious dictatorship” and “Down with the oppressor, be it the shah or the supreme leader.”
The growing role of the National Liberation Army was also highlighted. During the January uprisings, Resistance Units reportedly carried out hundreds of operations against IRGC and Basij centers. In Kermanshah, armed Resistance Unit members displayed support for the National Liberation Army, while similar activities and posters appeared in Isfahan, Damavand, and Dezful, promising that “The spring of freedom will come with the National Liberation Army.”
The continued activities of the MEK Resistance Units across cities including Iranshahr, Karaj, Mashhad, Zahedan, Bushehr, Ahvaz, Qaen, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Damavand, and Dezful demonstrate ongoing organized opposition to the Iranian regime despite intensifying repression.
