MEK-affiliated Resistance Units highlight workers’ rights, economic hardship, and ongoing repression in Iran

Zahedan – Friday, May 1, 2026

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, Resistance Units affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out coordinated activities in Zahedan, spreading messages focused on workers’ rights, economic hardship, and the rejection of all forms of dictatorship, calling for the establishment of a democratic republic in Iran.

The activities included the display of banners and placards across different areas of the city, addressing the worsening living conditions of workers and calling attention to systemic repression.

Messages and slogans displayed:

  • “Workers and toilers will only achieve their rights through the overthrow of the regime and the establishment of a democratic republic.”
  • “Workers and toilers wholeheartedly demand the overthrow,” — Maryam Rajavi
  • “Under religious dictatorship, like monarchical tyranny, workers and toilers gain nothing but repression, suffocation, and class inequality.”
  • “Despite severe economic conditions and widespread repression, workers and toilers have not missed any opportunity for protest and strikes.”

International Workers’ Day message:

  • PMOImessage on International Workers’ Day: Toilers, arm yourselves.”
  • “Over the past 47 years, each year the livelihood of workers has shrunk and their purchasing power has declined.”

Statements on repression and executions:

  • “The clerical regime has resorted to continuous executions under the cover of wartime conditions to block uprisings,” — Maryam Rajavi
  • “Silence in the face of daily executions emboldens the regime to carry out more executions,” — Maryam Rajavi

These activities come amid ongoing economic challenges and heightened social tensions in Iran, as workers continue to protest despite increasing pressure and restrictions.
