Resistance Units Promote Democratic Alternative While Rejecting Monarchy and Clerical Rule

June 5, 2026—Zahedan, southeast Iran
On Friday, June 5, courageous MEK Resistance Units in Zahedan carried out their weekly activities, reiterating their commitment to regime change and rejecting all forms of dictatorship. They displayed banners, placards, and slogans denouncing all forms of dictatorship—from the defunct monarchy to the ruling religious fascism—while promoting the alternative of a democratic republic and reaffirming the Iranian people’s rejection of both monarchical and clerical rule

Resistance Leaders’ Messages Outline a Democratic Alternative

The leaflets featured messages from Iranian Resistance leader Mr. Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, emphasizing that Iran’s future lies neither in the restoration of monarchy nor in the continuation of clerical rule.

Among the messages circulated were:

  • “Khomeini shattered the hopes and trust of an entire nation. As a historical, ideological, and national calamity emerging from the dark depths of medieval ignorance and reaction, his rule posed an existential crisis—a literal test of survival for the very identity and existence of Iran and its people.”
  • “Infinite condemnation upon Khomeini and Khamenei. Just as history condemns the tyrant, we say: down with the legacy of Khomeini and down with the principle of absolute clerical rule.”
  • “Raise your voices in defiance until the forces of dark tyranny are utterly broken and banished, and the bright dawn of liberation finally breaks.”
  • “Down with Khamenei, curse upon Khomeini, down with the principle of absolute clerical rule—long live the Liberation Army”
  • “Even Montazeri, Khomeini’s designated successor, could no longer tolerate the regime’s rampant bloodshed; when he demanded an end to the atrocities, Khomeini stripped him of his position.”
  • “Every day, curse Khomeini seven times in your heart, pray for peace and freedom, and salute the martyrs and political prisoners of the Resistance.”
  • “With the slogan ‘Neither Shah nor Sheikh,’ the people of Iran and oppressed nationalities have stood up against religious fascism.”
  • “The slogan of the Provisional Government is Peace and Freedom.”
  • “In the face of both the clerical dictatorship and monarchical dictatorship, the Iranian Resistance has presented a democratic alternative that rejects both the former and the current dictatorships.”

The campaign highlighted the Resistance movement’s commitment to democratic change through organized resistance and nationwide popular uprisings.

Rejecting Both Monarchy and Theocracy

A central theme of the campaign was the rejection of both the ruling religious dictatorship and any return to monarchical rule.

Leaflets and banners carried slogans reflecting the Resistance’s longstanding position that Iran’s future belongs to a democratic republic based on the will of the people:

  • “No to monarchy, no to the supreme leader. Yes to freedom and equality.”
  • “No to the Shah, no to the mullahs, yes to freedom and a democratic republic.”
  • “Dictatorship is dictatorship, whether it wears a turban or a crown.”
  • Monarchy and Velayat-e Faqih (Mullahs’ rule): one hundred years of crime.”
  • “Curse upon the bloodthirsty Mullah and Shah.”

From Zahedan to Tehran: A Call for National Solidarity

The banners displayed during the operation also expressed solidarity with protesters and Resistance activists across Iran.

Among the slogans displayed were:

  • “From Zahedan to Tehran, down with the oppressor, whether the Shah or the supreme leader.”
  • “Baluchestan is awake; it rejects both Shah and Mullah.”
  • “Neither monarchy nor supreme leadership; democracy and equality.”

The campaign reflected the determination of the Iranian Resistance Units to reject both monarchical and religious dictatorship and to advance the struggle for a democratic republic based on freedom, equality, and the people’s sovereignty.
