Resistance Units Honor the Martyrs of the 1988 Massacre with 60 Daring Operations Across Iran

On the anniversary of the 1988 massacre of some 30,000 political prisoners, PMOI members and other political prisoners were remembered across Iran. The PMOI/MEK Resistance Units carried out 60 operations in cities and towns across the country.

The operations honored the victims of the 1988 massacre. They also paid tribute to those who died during the 1979 anti-monarchical revolution. The activities targeted symbols and centers associated with the regime of the mullahs.

The operations took place in cities and towns including:

Kermanshah, Ardabil, Khorramabad, Mashhad, Pishin, Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Shiraz, Urmia, Kerman, Zahedan, Neyshabur, Qaem Shahr, Borazjan, Saravan, Aligudarz, Iranshahr, Khash, Bushehr, Susangerd, Astara, Bandar Ganaveh, Chabahar, Zahak, Malard, and Semirrom.

Defying Repression and Preserving the Memory of the Martyrs

The 60 operations took place despite the regime’s repression. They sought to preserve the memory of political prisoners who were massacred in August 1988.

The Resistance Units targeted regime propaganda and symbols of its leadership. They also targeted centers associated with repression and the spread of the regime’s ideology.

The activities took place across many parts of Iran. They included Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Zahedan, Bushehr, Chabahar, and many other cities.

The nationwide spread of these activities underscores the continued presence of the Resistance Units across Iran. It also reflects their determination to keep alive the memory of the victims of the 1988 massacre.
