As the 132nd week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign continued in 59 prisons across Iran, Resistance Units carried out coordinated protest activities in cities throughout the country, expressing solidarity with the campaign and calling for an end to executions.
The activities took place in Tehran, Arak, Hamedan, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Rasht, Isfahan, Sari, and Shiraz, where Resistance Units displayed banners and handwritten slogans condemning death sentences and demanding an immediate halt to executions and the release of political prisoners.
The activists also commemorated executed PMOI members Mohammad Taghavi, Behrouz Ehsani, and Mehdi Hassanii by placing flowers and lighting candles in their memory. Among the messages displayed during the activities were:
- “Mohammad, you will never be forgotten. You are with us every moment.”
- “In memory of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, our companions with no graves. The blood of our martyrs and the suffering of our prisoners are forever intertwined. Hail to Massoud Rajavi.”
- “Free political prisoners. No to executions.”
- “Justice cannot be achieved through executions. No to Execution Tuesdays.”
- “No to the regime of executions.”
- “From Kurdistan to Tehran, united against executions.”
- “We honor the memory of Abolfazl Sepahi, Amirhossein Safari, and Mehdi Khanaki, and demand an immediate halt to executions. No to executions.”
- “No to executions – Youth of Alikhani Square, Isfahan.”
- “Supporting prisoners on death row is the responsibility of the noble people of Iran. No to executions.”
The Resistance Units’ activities were carried out in support of the nationwide “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign, which continues to expand inside Iran despite ongoing repression, drawing attention to the growing public opposition to the regime’s use of the death penalty.
