Friday, October 16, 2026 — Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran: Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out activities across Zahedan, displaying banners and placards featuring messages from Iranian Resistance Leader Massoud Rajavi and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi. The activities emphasized the rejection of both monarchical and religious dictatorship and called for a democratic republic.

The messages highlighted the rejection of despotism and dependence, the necessity of overthrowing the ruling Velayat-e Faqih regime, and the role of organized resistance in achieving freedom. Slogans also emphasized the principles of “No to Shah, No to Mullahs,” freedom, equality, and a democratic republic.

Massoud Rajavi’s Messages: Rejecting the Shah and the Mullahs and Emphasizing a Democratic Alternative

The banners carried the following messages from Mr. Massoud Rajavi, Leader of the Iranian Resistance:

  • “Iranians are rising up against the award and encouragement given to the offspring of the dependent dictator Shah. Monarchical fascism, like religious fascism, is not deserving of awards.”
  • “The reality is that the outcome of all the performances by the Shah’s son and the courtiers and court criers around him goes into the mullahs’ pockets—and nothing more.”
  • “By rejecting the Shah and the Sheikh—that is, dictatorship and dependence—the legitimacy of the democratic revolutionary alternative and its allied front has been proven, despite all the reactionary and colonial demonization campaigns.”
  • “The validity of the fundamental principle of ‘No to Shah, No to Mullahs’ has been proven, despite the greatest censorship imposed on the Iranian Resistance in a century.”
  • “What has been proven is the legitimacy and authenticity of the democratic alternative, namely the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which has firmly established the boundaries of the people’s front against both the Shah and the Sheikh.”
  • “The shameful fabrication of a Chalabi-style figure is an insult to the Iranian people’s anti-monarchical revolution for independence and freedom. It is a colonial act and a trampling of the blood of the standard-bearers and martyrs of freedom throughout a century of monarchy and clerical rule in Iran.”

Resistance and the Struggle for Freedom

Additional messages from Mr. Rajavi emphasized resistance and the struggle to overthrow dictatorship:

  • “Under the banner of ‘No to Shah, No to Mullahs,’ the cry for freedom must be raised, arms must be taken up, and resistance must be waged.”
  • “The Iranian nation’s courage in overthrowing the Shah and the Sheikh, and in the fires of the Resistance Units and its valiant offspring, has continued to burn since June 20, 1981, and remains aflame to this day.”
  • “Making a revolution in its true and democratic sense, with sovereignty resting with the people, comes at a considerable cost; it is not achieved for free.”
  • “As long as dictatorial fascism remains in power and the people’s sovereignty continues to be usurped and stolen, the question of the people’s front versus the anti-people’s front must first be settled.”
  • “The Mojahedin have always stood firm and resolute, ready under all circumstances to fight and struggle to overthrow the enemy of humanity. They have been, are, and will remain so—with a hundredfold battle.”
  • “The slogan ‘Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader,’ which blocks the path of despotism and colonialism, has become widespread.”

Maryam Rajavi’s Messages: Rejecting Monarchical and Religious Dictatorship

Messages from Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stressed the rejection of both forms of dictatorship and the establishment of a democratic republic.

Rejecting Both Forms of Dictatorship

  • “Neither the remnants of the current regime will be able to preserve this decaying government, nor will the Shah’s heirs be able to return Iran to monarchical dictatorship.”
  • “One of the regime’s instruments for confronting the uprising and resistance is to give space to a fabricated alternative built around the remnants of the Shah’s dictatorship.”
  • “Drawing the line of ‘No to Shah, No to Mullahs’ directs all efforts of struggle toward overthrowing the mullahs’ regime.”
  • “The Velayat-e Faqih regime must be removed in its entirety and replaced by a democratic republic.”

The People’s Uprising and the Overthrow of the Velayat-e Faqih Regime

Mrs. Rajavi’s messages also addressed the regime’s vulnerability and the role of popular resistance:

  • “The ruling regime is on the brink of overthrow and has never been as shaken, weak, and vulnerable as it is today.”
  • “The leaders of religious fascism have been defeated in the face of popular uprisings and organized resistance and have failed to stop them.”
  • “The overthrow of the regime is inevitable, and it will be accomplished by the Iranian people, their uprising, and the National Liberation Army.”

Condemning Executions, Torture, and Repression

The messages also condemned the escalation of executions and repression:

  • “To prevent popular protests and preserve the regime against the danger of overthrow, the regime has intensified torture, widespread and indiscriminate arrests, executions, and the creation of an atmosphere of terror in society.”
  • “We pay tribute to the rebellious youths who were executed this year for participating in uprisings—those who courageously declared in the regime’s sham courts that they had risen up to overthrow it.”
  • “We are fighting to establish a society free of executions and torture, for a democratic republic.”

Resistance Slogans in Zahedan: Rejecting the Shah and the Mullahs

As part of the activities in Zahedan, slogans opposing dictatorship and supporting freedom, equality, and a democratic republic were displayed.

Rejecting Both the Shah and the Sheikh (Mullahs)

The slogans included:

  • “Dictatorship is dictatorship, whether under a turban or a crown.”
  • “The people and history curse the bloodthirsty Shah and Sheikh (Mullahs).”
  • “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader.”

No to Shah, No to Mullahs—Freedom and a Democratic Republic

Other slogans called for rejecting both monarchical and religious dictatorship:

  • “No to Shah, No to Mullahs—freedom and a democratic republic.”
  • “Neither monarchy nor supreme leadership—freedom and equality.”
  • “Neither Shah nor Sheikh: the Iranian people’s demand is a democratic republic.”
  • “From Zahedan to Tehran: Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader.”

The activities of the Resistance Units in Zahedan highlighted the rejection of dictatorship and dependence, reaffirming the call for freedom, equality, and a democratic republic.
