Iran – November 2, 2026: The Resistance Units affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out 30 operations across the country. They targeted the Iranian regime’s centers and symbols of repression. The actions marked the upcoming seventh anniversary of the November 2019 uprising. These operations were part of a broader campaign of 90 activities. The campaign took place in Tehran and 24 other cities. It also included anti-regime graffiti and banner installations.
Operations Against IRGC and Basij Bases
The operations focused on IRGC Basij bases and other repressive institutions. In Tehran, Resistance Units set fire to the entrances of two IRGC Basij bases. Similar operations took place in Tabriz and Ahvaz. In southeastern Iran, they set fire to Basij base signs in Iranshahr and Chabahar. In Dezful, they targeted a Basij signpost. In Rask, they set fire to the entrance of an IRGC battalion headquarters. Tabriz also saw two operations against facilities linked to the regime’s religious ideology.
Targeting Regime Propaganda Symbols
Resistance Units also targeted propaganda images of regime leaders. They set fire to posters and banners of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei in several cities. These cities included Tabriz, Mashhad, Marand, Mahshahr, Kermanshah, Bojnurd, and Isfahan. Images of his successor Mojtaba Khamenei were also targeted. Operations against his images took place in Tabriz, Mashhad, Abadan, and Sabzevar. In Tehran, they set fire to posters of former president Ebrahim Raisi and Qasem Soleimani. In Isfahan, they burned a billboard that promoted the Ministry of Intelligence’s reporting telephone number.
Commemorating the November 2019 Uprising
The campaign commemorated the more than 1,500 protesters killed during the November 2019 uprising. The uprising began on November 15 after sudden gasoline price increases. Prices rose between 50 and 300 percent. The protests quickly spread to more than 190 cities. Security forces, including the IRGC and Basij, opened fire on demonstrators. The authorities also imposed a near-total internet blackout. The November 2 operations sent a clear message. The regime’s crackdown had failed to end the Iranian people’s determination to achieve freedom. The legacy of the 2019 uprising continues to shape ongoing resistance.
