March 9, 2023: Via a video message, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) appreciated the U.S. House Majority’s support for H. Res100 for a democratic republic, secular, and non-nuclear Iran.
A bipartisan resolution, known as H. Res.100, has been presented in the U.S. House of Representatives by several members of Congress from different committees.
The resolution calls for a new approach to Iran policy in light of ongoing protests and repression by the regime, and has gained support from a majority of the House in the first 50 days of the 118th Congress.
It urges the Biden administration to support the Iranian people’s struggle for democracy and human rights, while condemning the regime’s human rights abuses and support for terrorism.
The resolution also supports the ten-point plan of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), for the future of Iran. Mrs. Rajavi has praised the resolution and highlighted the Iranian regime’s attempts to hinder support for the Iranian Resistance and people’s uprising.
Representatives from both parties spoke about the need for change in Iran, highlighting the leadership of women in the movement and condemning the Iranian regime’s brutality toward its citizens.
The resolution also expressed support for Madam Rajavi, who advocates for universal rights, free elections, gender and ethnic equality, and peaceful foreign policies.
The representatives emphasized the bipartisan support for the Iranian people’s desire for the same freedoms, liberties, and democracy enjoyed by free societies.
