U.S. Rallies Condemn Iran Regime, Urge Action to Stop Executions of Political Prisoners

Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas — April 26, 2025

Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas — April 26, 2025 — Coordinated rallies across four major U.S. cities brought renewed attention to Iran’s worsening human rights crisis, particularly focusing on political prisoners facing imminent execution. In Washington DC, demonstrators gathered in front of the White House to demand immediate international intervention.

Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized these events to protest the regime’s escalating repression and to raise global awareness of the cases of Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani—two political prisoners reportedly at risk of execution at any moment.

According to Iran Human Rights Monitor (Iran HRM), the request for a judicial review (appeal for retrial) for political prisoner Behrouz Ehsani has been officially rejected. This decision follows the earlier rejection of a similar appeal by Mehdi Hassani. With these denials, both men now face immediate danger of execution.

The demonstrations included visual exhibitions, posters, and eyewitness accounts that spotlighted the Islamic Republic’s brutal use of capital punishment to silence dissent. Attendees participated in various advocacy efforts, such as signing petitions and raising awareness across social media platforms.

Participants called on the international community to take decisive, coordinated action to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its ongoing crimes against humanity.
