Massive Iranian Resistance Rallies in Berlin and Stockholm Back Democratic Change — No to Shah, No to Mullahs

Massive Iranian Resistance Rallies in Berlin and Stockholm – June 21, 2025

Renewed Calls for Democratic Change as Iranian Resistance Supporters Rally in Berlin and Stockholm

On June 21, 2025, tens of thousands of Iranians took to the streets in Berlin and Stockholm, demonstrating their unwavering support for regime change through the organized resistance movement led by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The rallies powerfully echoed the NCRI’s proposed Third Option: democratic change by the people of Iran, rejecting both war and appeasement.

In a joint address to both rallies, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s President-elect, stated:

“Today, We Are on the Threshold of a Great Transformation.”
She added:
“I want to begin with the words I spoke 21 years ago, in my message to your rally in Berlin on February 10, 2005: ‘Our message is clear: The Iranian people’s resistance for freedom must be recognized. We say no to appeasement and saving the mullahs’ regime, and no to war.’ Instead, ‘there is a Third Option: regime change by the people of Iran and the Iranian Resistance. Democratic change is the will of the Iranian people and the verdict of history.’”

Berlin: Rejecting Tyranny in All Forms

In Berlin, large crowds of freedom-seeking Iranians marched with placards and banners, chanting slogans against the ruling theocracy and rejecting the return of the deposed monarchy. Echoing the message from Mrs. Rajavi, the demonstrators voiced strong support for democratic change through the organized resistance. The atmosphere was one of clarity and resolve: Iran’s future must not revert to a previous monarchical dictatorship, nor remain under the current regime.

Tweets from the Berlin event captured the energy of the crowd:

Stockholm: Rallying for the Third Option

Simultaneously in Stockholm, thousands echoed the same calls. Protesters chanted,

“Change by the people of Iran—this is the Third Option,”
and
“The Iranian people’s uprising is the way out of the crisis.”

The Swedish rally emphasized that the core conflict is not between foreign powers, but between the Iranian people and their resistance versus the repressive clerical regime, emboldened by decades of Western appeasement.

A Clear Demand: Recognition for the Democratic Alternative

Across both capitals, speakers and participants called on the international community to formally recognize the NCRI as the only viable democratic alternative to the current regime. The message was unified and unmistakable: the future of Iran lies not in theocratic rule or a return to monarchy, but in a secular, democratic republic founded on the sovereign will of the Iranian people.
