Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), sent a message to her Christian compatriots and the people of Iran on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
The full text of Mrs. Rajavi’s message is as follows:
My dear fellow Christians,
Followers of Jesus Christ and Saint Mary,
Workers for freedom, brotherhood, and peace around the world!
Merry Christmas! Congratulations on the joyous and blessed birth of Jesus, son of Mary.
I extend my endless salutations to Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, to whom the angels said: “O Mary! God hath chosen thee and purified thee; chosen thee above the women of all nations.” (The Holy Quran, The Family of Emran, Verse 42)
Hail to the Prophet who resisted the Pharisees and refused compromise with them, urging his companions and rebels to embrace compassion and forgiveness towards one another and their people. He preached, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
Christ was chosen to fulfill the words “those who hunger and thirst for justice.” (Matthew 5:6)
Today, His birthplace is steeped in blood and sorrow. The monster of religious fascism ignites the flames of war in the Middle East, to cling to its decadent power. Innocent lives are sacrificed, and our youth face the gallows, one group after another, in cities across Iran. Followers of other faiths endure oppression, while the people of Iran languish in poverty and hunger due to relentless plunder.
The reign of the mullahs’ war and suppression mirrors a concise history, echoing from Nimrud and Pharaoh to the perpetrators of violence against Jesus Christ and the adversaries of Prophet Mohammed.
To follow the messengers advocating oneness, freedom, and revolution, one must confront the ruthless enemy that orchestrates the conflict in the Middle East, obstructing the path of the Iranian people’s uprising. This adversary thrives on the slaughter of innocent people. The inhabitants of this region, encompassing Shiites, Sunnis, Christians, Muslims, and Jews, are not adversaries among themselves. Instead, they aspire to live together in peace, fostering friendship, tolerance, and coexistence.
Our great prophets, from Abraham to Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, all conveyed a unified message: to liberate humanity from the chains of ignorance, superstition, tyranny, and exploitation. May the peace and blessings of God be upon them.
May the relentless fight and sacrifice of those striving for justice—the Resistance Units, protesters, and the valiant army of the Iranian people’s liberation— lead to the permanent eradication of the sponsor of war and terrorism: the religious dictatorship in Iran.
May peace and liberty envelop the nations of the Middle East. As written in the Zabur of David, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Zabur of David, Psalm 133:1, 3)
Extending my advance felicitations for the New Year 2024 and hoping for the world’s renewal through the overthrow of the reactionary religious dictatorship in Iran.
Peace be upon Jesus Christ.
Peace be upon the Virgin Mary.
