Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), delivered a powerful speech titled “The emergence and role of combatant Iranian women in the Resistance is the essential condition for freedom” at a conference in the European Parliament.

In her address, Mrs. Rajavi highlighted the pivotal role of Iranian women in the ongoing struggle for freedom and democracy in the country. She began by reading a message from resistant female prisoners and protesters in Iran, who defiantly declared, “Khamenei, we will overthrow you.”

Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that rebellious women across Iran are challenging the regime, proclaiming, “We are your nightmare. Know that you will be overthrown.”

Maryam Rajavi stressed that the emergence and leadership of women in the Iranian Resistance is an essential condition for the liberation of all Iranians from the rule of tyranny and fundamentalism. She believes that pioneering women will ultimately defeat the religious dictatorship ruling Iran, and their active and equal participation in political leadership is crucial for the establishment of democracy.

Mrs. Rajavi condemned the regime’s association with fundamentalism, warmongering, terrorism, and crimes, and she presented the women’s movement as a new strategy for changing societal relationships, fighting corruption, poverty, and environmental destruction, and activating social capacities to move forward.

Addressing the European Parliament representatives, Rajavi emphasized that the root of war and terrorism in the Middle East lies in Tehran, and the solution lies in supporting the Iranian Resistance, which is led by women.

She highlighted that on International Women’s Day this year, 400 political personalities and women’s rights defenders, including numerous legislators from around the world, expressed their support for the Iranian women’s struggle.

Maryam Rajavi’s speech underscores the pivotal role of Iranian women in the ongoing resistance against the oppressive regime. Their courage, determination, and leadership are shaping the future of Iran, as they continue to challenge the fundamentalist rule and pave the way for a democratic, free, and equal society.
