Mrs. Rajavi Congratulates the People of Iran and Syria on the Fall of the Assad Regime

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)

In a historic message following the collapse of the dictatorship of Bashar al-Assad, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Syria, the Iranian people, and the entire region. She hailed this event as a significant step towards freedom, democracy, and progress.

Mrs. Rajavi expressed her admiration for the bravery of Syria’s revolutionary youth, political prisoners, and the families of hundreds of thousands of martyrs who gave their lives for the Syrian Revolution. She emphasized that this monumental victory marks the beginning of a new era for the Syrian people, filled with hope and the promise of prosperity.

Highlighting the regional implications of Assad’s downfall, Mrs. Rajavi underscored the collapse of the “strategic depth” of Iran’s religious dictatorship. She called for the expulsion of the Iranian regime from Iraq and other regional countries, noting that this has been a longstanding demand of the Iranian Resistance. She described this event as a prelude to the eventual liberation of the Iranian people from the grip of religious fascism.

Mrs. Rajavi condemned the Iranian regime’s role in supporting Assad’s regime over the past 45 years, which led to immense suffering for the people of Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon. She declared that the dark days brought by this alliance are coming to an end, and the time for the mullahs’ regime to face its demise has arrived.

Addressing the Iranian people, Mrs. Rajavi described the fall of Assad as a source of comfort and a symbol of hope for the families of the 120,000 martyrs who have fought for Iran’s freedom. She reminded the world of the atrocities committed by the Iranian regime, including its direct involvement in the slaughter of half a million Syrians and the displacement of millions more.

Drawing a parallel between the fall of Assad’s forces and the eventual fate of the Iranian regime, Mrs. Rajavi noted how Assad’s once-powerful military, backed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, was dismantled by the Syrian people’s resistance. She expressed confidence that the same fate awaits Khamenei’s forces, as the Iranian uprising and organized resistance continue to grow.

Mrs. Rajavi concluded her message with a vision of liberation, referencing the fall of the notorious Saydnaya Prison in Syria. She expressed hope that the Iranian youth and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) will soon conquer Iran’s infamous Evin prison and other centers of oppression, bringing an end to the regime of executions and massacres.
