Maryam Rajavi Welcomes Ceasefire, Reaffirms Iranian Struggle Against Religious Fascism

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), has welcomed the proposal for a ceasefire and the end of hostilities in the region, describing it as a significant step forward for the “third option“: neither war nor appeasement. In her view, the resolution of conflict should not come at the expense of empowering tyranny, but rather by empowering the people of Iran to determine their own destiny.

She reaffirmed the will of the Iranian people to achieve freedom and democracy through their ongoing struggle against the theocratic regime. Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the Iranian nation, through over a century of resistance and great sacrifice, has repeatedly rejected both the monarchy and the religious dictatorship. Successive uprisings have demonstrated the people’s clear desire for a democratic alternative.

Mrs. Rajavi reiterated her vision for Iran’s future: a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear republic. She called for the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and recognition of autonomy for Iran’s various nationalities. According to her, this vision not only fulfills the aspirations of the Iranian people but also paves the way for peace, human rights, stability, cooperation, and economic development throughout the Middle East and the wider world.
