Continuity of Generations in the Fight for Freedom
At the Free Iran 2025 Youth Gathering held in Paris, Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), saluted the “aware and rebellious youth” of Iran, calling them the decisive force behind the uprisings across the country.
She declared that “destiny is knocking at the door,” urging Iranians to rise for freedom and emphasizing that young people are “the driving and decisive force that will bring down the tyrannical rule of the mullahs.”

Organized Youth: The People’s Most Effective Weapon
Rajavi said that Ali Khamenei now faces the fury of a restless nation whose most powerful weapon is the new generation—organized, determined, and forged through decades of struggle against dictatorship.
“History shows that freedom has never been won by vast armies but by selfless individuals,” she said, calling the youth “the decisive force on the ground.”
A Legacy of Resistance Across Generations
The NCRI leader linked today’s movement to 120 years of continuous struggle for freedom in Iran. She praised the martyrs and prisoners who defied execution and torture, saying, “This generation tells Khamenei: go ahead, arrest and execute—by doing so you are digging your own grave.”
A Rebellious Generation Thirsting for Freedom
Mrs. Rajavi hailed the strike by 1,500 death-row prisoners as “the resolute cry of a people pushed to the brink.” She declared that Iran has never been closer to the overthrow of the clerical regime and denounced all false solutions—from the so-called reformists to foreign interventionists and monarchist nostalgists.
“The only genuine solution,” she stated, “is the overthrow of the regime by the Iranian people, their organized Resistance, and this rebellious generation thirsting for freedom.”
United Generations in the Resistance
Responding to regime claims that the Resistance lacks popular support, Mrs. Rajavi affirmed, “We have never sought the kind of base you desire — the Basij or intelligence agents. For us, the people of Iran and this freedom-seeking generation are enough.”
She honored the unity of generations within the Mojahedin and NCRI — from veterans of the Shah’s prisons to the young Resistance Units and the steadfast PMOI members of Ashraf-3.

The Will of the Young Generation
Mrs. Rajavi urged young Iranians, both inside the country and abroad, to join the Resistance and awaken others to rise against the regime. “When your hands join with your comrades, they become the mighty arm of the people,” she said.
Quoting Massoud Rajavi, she reminded them: “We need hearts and minds that can bear the pain of revolution because we want to uproot this reactionary ideology.”
Building a Free and Thriving Iran
Outlining her vision for the future, Maryam Rajavi reaffirmed the Resistance’s commitment to building “a free and flourishing Iran” where every citizen enjoys equality regardless of belief, ethnicity, or gender.
She highlighted women’s and youth’s central roles in shaping tomorrow’s democratic Iran, saying, “The most vital measure of democracy in tomorrow’s free Iran will be the role of women and youth.”

Honoring the November 2019 Uprising
Mrs. Rajavi also paid tribute to the 1,500 martyrs of the November 2019 uprising, calling it “the volcano of the Iranian people’s fury.” She emphasized that the uprising demonstrated the power of an organized people to challenge and eventually overthrow the regime.
“O youth of the homeland,” she concluded, “your hearts are springs of hope, your resolve as firm as steel. The day of freedom for this captive land is surely close at hand.”
